There are three types of WhatsApp. WhatsApp that is free. WhatsApp is free for personal use. WhatsApp that we use for family and friends. WhatsApp Business is also free. WhatsApp Business that sole traders use to separate work and private life. And there is WhatsApp RippleCom. WhatsApp as a free solution

The old marketing thought

Businesses massively reach their target group via email. Email funnels do not yield the desired result. Recent research shows that the average open rate for email marketing is only 21.33%, while the average click-ratio is even lower; at 2.62%. “Read-ratios” are not really read-ratios; if the user clicks on the mail by mistake, it counts as a “read-ratio”. So this is certainly not entirely pure!

Then we have “click-ratios”. The recipient who has opened the email and clicks through via that email. That’s usually where the explanation and success of the email campaign stops. Asking about the “conversion ratio” on the email mailing leads to a vague reaction that the information only comes from Analytics (Google) and email programs. In short, on estimated values and not hard figures.

With AI, texts are being made nowadays. Fine! Still, the read-ratios stick around 21.33% (then you’re doing well in Marketing-land). Then the click-ratios of 2.62% are already experienced as very high. Where we filter again for outliers and other matters. This means that of every 1000 emails sent, only 213 are opened and only 26 people click through. We at RippleCom find that organisations have enormous opportunities to reach their target group.

WhatsApp for the business market

WhatsApp for the business market is currently being deployed in a limited way. That has to do with the ignorance of the possibilities. With luck, “WhatsApp Web” is used. Then up to four people (plus 1 on the phone) can conduct a conversation with a customer for free. Via WhatsApp Business. That’s already quite something, because being reachable via the most used platform WhatsApp is already distinctive. The big advantage is that those organisations already see that customers no longer call (70% has a form of phone anxiety) and email boxes are packed with many unread messages and everything ‘neatly in folders’. Although WhatsApp Business is free, it lacks crucial functions for team communication. For example, you cannot see who replied to which message, which leads to confusion and double work. There is also no possibility for internal notes or forwarding conversations to colleagues.
